Commit to Knit

Knitting is increasingly in popularity. Whether you are a  knitting pro or just starting out, knitting needles are getting people in a frenzy.

This is great news for one organisation. The UK Hand Knitting Association are getting excited about the launch of Commit to Knit month. They have been busily contacting libraries and now have nearly 90 events planned on or near worldwide knit in public day on Saturday 18th June. I will be busily knitting on my stall at the Staplehurst Craft Fair that day from 2.30 until 4.30 so do pop by if you are local and need some knitting advice.

There are however a number of libraries that want to take part in the event, but dont have a group - The UK Hand Knitting Association need your help.  There is a list of libraries on their website that are still looking to form a group, so do take a look if you want to find out more:

So half term is in full swing and yesterday we kicked it off with a bank holiday garden party.   I met up with a wonderful old friend of mine who i havent seen for  a long time. It was so lovely to talk to someone who shares my experiences of being a busy mum and running a small business. Katy is the founder of Berry and the Bear -  a small business selling ethically produced and fairly traded products. I bought a lovely coin purse from her yesterday. Do checkout the lovely gifts she has available
